Fortune General announces guidelines for Typhoon-Yolanda claims

 
Fortune General Insurance Corp. (FGIC) has announced  the guidelines for filing claims to policy holders with typhoon covers affected by Yolanda.
 
The non life insurer said policyholders may contact the following Claims personnel:

For ease of reference, claimants are required to prepare the following standard claims procedures, and documents:
 
What to do List
 
          1. In case of a loss, it should be reported immediately to Fortune General Claims Department at
                (02) 706-3959 local 431, 432, and 434 or to the concerned intermediary.
                For damaged contents:
                >    Segregate damaged items from the unaffected ones to prevent further deterioration.
                >    Take pictures of the affected items
                >    Prepare an inventory if feasible
                >    Make these available for inspection
 
           2. An adjuster will be sent to the site.  Assured should prepare the following documents for
                submission to the attending adjuster:
 
        A. Building
                >    Proof of Ownership, i.e., Declaration of Real Property, Transfer of Certificate
                          of Title Tax Declaration
                >    Building Plan/Sketch
                >    Repair/Reconstruction estimate
 
                B. Contents
                     In addition to the Proof of Ownership:
                >   Inventory of affected and unaffected items showing the acquisition date and cost
                >   Sales/purchase invoices, official receipts
                >   Repair estimate, if repairable
 
           3. If your car  is flooded:
                >   Disconnect the battery
                >   Do not start the engine
